The AGCS property coverage includes certified green buildings coverage and a green property upgrade coverage for corporate buildings. Allianz Group’s U.S. subsidiary, Fireman’s Fund Insurance Company, pioneered this coverage and offers it for commercial buildings and private homes. The commercial coverage protects buildings that are already green-certified, or supports the reconstruction of a standard property with environmentally friendly materials following a loss. Similarly, green homeowner’s insurance allows individuals to upgrade damaged residences with green features which meet environmental safety and efficiency standards.

Green buildings are built or remodeled according to state-of-the-art specifications for heating, air-conditioning and electrical systems. This improves the air and water quality, reduces solid wastes and conserves natural resources. Precautions against wildfires

Expensive love of animals

From a little bandage to an emergency operation: many dog or cat owners have to dig deep into their pockets when it gets to the health of their pet. The Allianz Animal Health insurance can help. In the morning, seven-year-old Alsatian mix Bronko ate his meal with relish and frolicked around in the garden with the kids directly afterwards. Later that day, Bronko became troubled and started to pant, choke and fought for air. As his owner saw Bronko's bloated, hard belly he immediately drove him to the animal emergency.

Diagnosis: circulatory shock and a life-threatening gastric dilatation-volvulus (torsio ventriculi). A dead case of emergency, Bronko needed surgery right away.

Treating the shock, adjusting the position of the stomach and removing the milt – the complex surgery and four days in the animal hospital saved Bronko's life. And cost nearly 2000 Euro.

Four-legged friends under the knife
In veterinary medicine, a severe pneumonia or a complicated fracture of the leg may cost hundreds of Euros, too. Every pet owner should be aware of that. Therefore, taking out an animal health insurance makes sense for every dog or cat owner.

In Germany, a dog or a cat lives in every fourth household. But only six percent of their owners have taken out an animal health insurance. In other European countries, it is already common to have a health insurance for your pet. In Sweden, for example, every other dog owner has taken out an animal health insurance.

Usually, an animal health insurance is a great relief for both the pet owner and the veterinary. It is necessary that the scope of services covered by the insurance is transparent, the settlement is unbureaucratic and the costs are paid quickly.
