Being on your boat is all about freedom. So you need insurance that lets you be worry free. Allied Insurance offers a pleasure boatowners product to help make every experience on your boat an enjoyable one. Boat and personal watercraft coverage can vary greatly among companies, but you can always count on Allied to be there for you both on and off the water.
Wherever you go, we’re on board
The following coverage options are available with your Allied Insurance pleasure boatowners policy:
Physical damage coverage - You have several options for covering total losses: actual cash value, replacement cost, or agreed value coverage for your boat, motor, trolling motor, trailer, and permanent and portable boating equipment (subject to certain limitations). Partial losses are not subject to depreciation, except batteries, sails, plastic and canvas coverings, outdrive units and outboard motors more than five years old, and personal watercraft. Coverage for fishing equipment, such as rods, reels, lures, tackle boxes and electronic gear, is available separately.
Medical payments - Medical payments coverage may pay for reasonable and necessary medical expenses for you and your passengers caused by an accident in the insured boat/watercraft.
Liability to others and the environment - Optional liability coverage may provide "third party" coverage arising out of the use of owned and non-owned boats. Pollution liability coverage pays for unintentional oil or fuel spills that result in bodily injury or property damage and for which the insured becomes legally responsible because of an accident arising out of the ownership, maintenance, or use of the insured watercraft.
Uninsured boaters - Coverage protects against bodily injury to you or other boat occupants due to an accident caused by an uninsured boater.
Rental reimbursement - Coverage to reimburse you (up to your policy limit) for a rental boat if your boat is disabled for more than 24 hours due to a covered loss.
Fishing equipment - Protection for rods, reels, lures, tackle boxes, and electronic gear.
On-water towing and labor - Coverage to help pay for towing a disabled boat back to dry land.
Roadside emergency service - Coverage to pay for towing and labor for covered emergencies.
Save a little cash
The following discounts may also apply to your Allied pleasure boatowners policy:
A boater safety discount may apply when one or more of the insured operators has completed and passed a course from the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, U.S. Power Squadron, the American Red Cross, or completed and passed an accredited state-based course. Some exceptions apply. For more information on boater safety courses in your area contact:
- U.S. Coast Guard, www.cgaux.org or 800-368-5647

A multi-policy discount may be available when you also insure your home or vehicle with Allied.
A multi-boat discount may apply if you’re insuring more than one boat on a single policy. (This discount applies to boats only; personal watercraft and motor units do not qualify, nor do they enable other boats on the policy to qualify. Other exceptions apply.)
A diesel fuel discount may apply to boats powered by diesel fuel.
To learn more about other potential discounts you could take advantage of, contact your local, independent Allied agent.
